The Secretary of State for India in Council having forwarded an application for the repayment of the value of Supplies and Medicines for the use of the troops proceeding to Hong Kong from the Leith Police and the Civil Hospitals at Penang Island and Pulo Penang (Prince of Wales Island),

to the amount of £483.7.I am directed by Secretary Sir John Pakington to request that you will cause him to be furnished with any information which the Colonial Office may possess with reference thereto, as such charges would not seem to be properly payable out of Army Funds.
